Pop singer Jason Derulo is facing sexual misconduct allegations. According to reports, a lawsuit in Los Angeles claims that Derulo attempted to hold a record deal over a young woman ‘s head in exchange for sexual favors.
US musician Jason Derulo is the latest Hollywood celebrity to face sexual misconduct allegations. Reports say that a woman named Emaza Gibson sued the singer over claims that he promised her a record deal but later turned aggressive and sexually pervasive.
“I’m at this point in my life right now, it’s very heartbreaking,” Gibson said in an interview Wednesday with NBC News. “I have anxiety; I’m traumatized. I’ve dealt with inhumane work situations. … I’m at this point where I’m back to zero and I have nothing.”
Gibson first moved to Los Angeles way back in 2008 when she says she first wanted to pursue a career in music. She is understood to have first met Derulo after he reached out on his own in an effort to recruit her for a record deal.
Elsewhere in the complaint, Gibson alleges that he would grow aggressive at times which left her feeling unsafe.
Derulo’s reps do not appear to have commented on the story at this time.
