As it turns out the common belief that money equals access just might be true. According to King 5 , a Bellevue Washington hospital is under fire this evening after prioritizing rich patients for the COVID vaccine in an invitation only scheme.
News reports confirmed that the hospital in question is in fact the Overlake hospital, who, admitted no wrongdoing Wednesday but acknowledged it could’ve been done better. The Seattle Times notes that the hospital has since claimed the reason for the move was due to the intense pressure to vaccinate more people.
