Hundreds of Americans and scores of other foreign nationals have been stranded in Gaza this weekend despite diplomatic deals meant to allow them to leave. According to reports, the Rafah border crossing into Egypt remains closed due to a dispute over aid to Gaza.

New reports out Sunday are revealing at least someof the issues people are experiencing at the border crossing. According to one report, Egypt closed the crossing over a dispute with Israel and its refusal to allow aid into Gaza. American officials are also understood to be a part of the ongoing problem and discussion which sparked the roadblock.

Egyptian officials are holding firm on reports that the aid must be let in per the New York Times. The original diplomatic deal was to allow more than 500 people cross the border.
