According to the Associated Press, the Consumer Protection Financial Bureau has already begun the process of rewriting the rules. The new rule change is expected to benefit potentially millions. Credit reporting inaccuracies are quite common in medical debt reporting — especially if patients were unaware or may have never received mailers.
