UNESCO is out with its updated list of world heritage sites and America has a new entry. According to the group, Hopewell Ceremonial Earthworks in Ohio has been added to the list. Earthworks is believed to have been built about 2,000 years ago.
“The earth walls of the enclosures are among the largest earthworks in the world that are not fortifications or defensive structures,” says the official UNESCO website.
