Johnson & Johnson is ending the sale and production of its talc based baby powder in 2023 after thousands of lawsuits said it gave women ovarian cancer. According to CNN, the company has confirmed that it will instead move to cornstarch based powder though it is unclear if that will regain the trust of many consumers.
“We continuously evaluate and optimize our portfolio to best position the business for long-term growth,” the company said in a statement. “This transition will help simplify our product offerings, deliver sustainable innovation, and meet the needs of our consumers, customers and evolving global trends.”
