Most Americans have probably heard by now that at some point you’ll need what is known as a REAL I.D to board an airplane and enter certain buildings throughout the country. That requirement was set to be entered into force come May of next year, however, DHS officials have now announced it won’t happen at least for now. According to the Department of Homeland Security, the requirement that adult Americans have the I.D is now pushed back to 7 May 2025.
The new date is 17 years after the origination of the REAL I.D Act which came to be a reality after the 11 September 2011 attacks that shocked America.
