Six long years after Jussie Smollett staged a hate crime as an apparent publicity stunt a happy ending to his legal troubles. According to the city of Chicago, Smollett has agreed to pay $50k to charity to settle the city’s suit against him.

A happy ending for all parties indeed in the long-running legal saga of Jussie Smollett. According to officials in Chicago, Smollett has agreed to pay $50k to Brighter Futures Centre for the Arts to settle the previous suit filed by the city against him. Some may recall that Smollett staged a hate crime attack against him a few years ago before his scam unraveled. The city had sued him to recoup money spent on his bogus investigation.

Smollett previously denied staging the January 2019 ordeal but has since settled the case and paid his dues.
