Danish Experimental performer Astrid Sonne has joined those exiting from Central Park’s upcoming free concert series. The concert series has had issues from the jump.

Summerstage is finding itself in the midst of own problematic making after yet another artist dropped their performances in Central Park. Summerstage also found itself in the middle of controversy earlier this month when it cancelled an appearance by Grammy nominated singer Kehlani from the same series lineup.
“It’s not right for me to perform in a concert series where artists are canceled for taking a stand against the ongoing genocide in Gaza,” Sonne wrote on Instagram on Thursday.
She has since moved her June 15 performance to the Williamsburg venue Baby’s All Right. The controversy appears to have first began after a website called Musicians for Palestine appeared online. Kehlani among a few others were all among those who signed the letter seen on its website.
