Mom ‘s in Arkansas likely aren’t going to like this one but it looks like it is going to become law. According to reports, GOP legislators (males) have introduced a bill that would effectively require women to call a 1-800 number before they get an abortion. Given that it would likely be stocked with religious fanatics, the phoneline would likely attempt to convince women against their own wishes.
The bill known as the “Moms Matter Act” has passed legislators and is headed to the Governors desk where it is likely to be signed. Doctors who do not refer women to the hotline first would see fines beginning at or around $5,000.
