NYC is set to set a precedent that likely will follow suit in other places. On Tuesday, it emerged that city planners and officials announced that the new restrictions are coming into play.

According to the mayors office, New York City will beginning in September require vax proof or a recent negative test in order for one to enter a gym or a restaurant. It is understood that such a measure would be in place for a while.

The move from 16 August on makes NYC the first known American city to require vaccination proofs or negative tests. Rules reportedly apply to workers and to customers equally.
