Uber has announced that as a result of the widespread major rise in gas prices it is adding a fuel surcharge to all rides and Uber Eats orders (depending on a user’s location.) Starting Wednesday the new surcharges are as follows nationwide in the United States an extra $0.45 or $0.55 per trip and an additional $0.35 or $0.45 for Uber Eats.

“We know that prices have been going up across the economy, so we’ve done our best to help drivers and couriers without placing too much additional burden on consumers,” Liza Winship, head of driver operations for the US and Canada, said in an online post.
