Following being named in a stunning lawsuit in Los Angeles a while ago — a case update has been announced. According to reports, the Motown singer is expected to cooperate with the investigation.

NBC News reports that the Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department announced on Thursday that a formal criminal inquiry into Smokey Robinson had been opened.
What happened?
As you may recall, Robinson, 85, was sued earlier this month in a lawsuit that alleged he repeatedly raped four ex-housekeepers. Robinson on his part maintains that he fid nothing wrong and has not been convicted of any crimes.
The four women are seeking upwards of $50m in damages. In terms of the hispanic woman among the accused she says Smokey never paid her a living wage.
According to the lawsuit papers, one woman was assaulted 23 times between 2014 and 2020, a second at least 20 times from 2012 to 2024, and a third at least seven times from January 2023 to February 2024.
