According to a weekend report, a mass deportation operation is in the final planning stages for the incoming administration.
The Lowdown
According to reports, Trump officials are preparing to launch mass deportation efforts across the United States less than a day after his inauguration. The first of such operations is believed to be scheduled for Chicago.
The Wall Street Journal reported on Friday they officials intend for the first operation to last all week. Officials in the incoming administration have made it clear that previous places that have been otherwise designated safe zones for people awaiting or without status may no longer be safe.
WSJ notes that the claim came from Tom Homan a Trump official at an event in Chicago this week. Homan has been fairly vocal about pushing Trump’s agenda so much so that he sparked concerns legal immigrants and others may be targeted too.
