Judge Juan Merchan has handed down his decision. But even with that decision some reports say he could still throw out the conviction all together.
The Lowdown
CNN reports that on Monday Judge Merchant ruled that the 34-count indictment against Donald will stand at least for now. The ruling comes following heated back and forth over whether or not Trump’s actions entirely were protected by Presidential immunity.
But as previously reported, the actions in question all took place unofficially (meaning prior to Trump assuming office) rendering claims of immunity irrelevant.
A previous immunity ruling by the Supreme Court found that he is entitled to partial immunity rather than entirely (unofficial v official acts.)
