In a desperate bid to win back customers, ailing coffee chain announces no more charges for non-dairy items

Troubled coffee chain Starbucks is reversing course on one of its greediest takes.

The Lowdown

Beginning 7 November, Starbucks has now announced that the chain is doing away with surcharges for non-dairy items. These surcharges in some locations were often as high as $.80.

The change announced Wednesday is expected to reduce the cost in these situations by as much as 10%.
