U.S government officials are breaking their necks at top speed to stop the Russians from using cryptocurrency to beat sanctions against the Kremlin. The scope of the proposed bill would be dramatic considering it would give the Americans the right to sanction foreign crypto firms they suspect are working with the Russian government.
“Crypto provides new payment options for criminals and cheats,” Warren said during the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs hearing, which focused on the role of cryptocurrency in illegal finance.
