Pandemic or not eviction bans are coming to an end in multiple places and now Washington state. This weekend Washington Gov Jay Inslee announced that protections will mostly come to an end on Sunday as the proclamation expires. Inslee believes that there can’t be an economy if nobody is paying rent but did not appear to address the struggles of many to obtain employment post-pandemic.

“We have to have some end to the moratorium. You can’t have an economy ultimately where just nobody pays rent,” Inslee said at a press conference this week, the Seattle Times reported.
