Because those COVID rules are in part what is saving her life and that of those around her but Katie Hopkins doesn’t care. As she was apparently in country to film Celebrity Big Brother, Hopkins instead used her spare time while in waiting to mock the country’s fairly strict COVID-19 protocols that have been in place for some time. The BBC reports that in a since-deleted video, Hopkins claimed that the COVID rules are the greatest hoax in human history despite the fact millions have lost their lives.
In Australia, people are required to wait at least 30 seconds before opening their doors to pick up hotel meals which Hopkins did not and had paraded on Instagram that she would knowingly flout such rules while in her Sydney hotel.
