Popular restaurant chain Chipotle (known for its knockoff Mexican food bowls and burritos) has announced that it is raising its prices for its menu. The price increase comes amid rising costs for food globally and the company ‘s reach to attempt to raise employee wages to at least $15 h/r. According to CNN, the increase will come at about 3-4% on the menu with some items seeing a larger increase over others.
Chipotle joins a series of restaurants and fast food joints whom are being forced to pay their people more. As workers have learned just how expendable they are during the pandemic, they’re now learning how to demand more for their time.
