Frightening because Citizen has already placed a bounty on the wrong man’s head for alleged arson. Now new reports show that the popular safety app is expanding once again.
Motherboard obtained emails today that confirmed that the app is expanding into physical safety officers (like police officers.)
The new pilot program is being tested in cities like Los Angeles whereas the local PD has enthusiastically expressed interest in such. This week, in fact, several internet users reported seeing police like cars explicitly marked Citizen.
It is unclear if the officers and guards will be part of Citizen’s already present protect feature.
