McConnell: Impeachment is a vote of consciousness

The battle over the presumed impeachment of Donald Trump (the first half has already happened) isn’t quite over yet. If the impeachment is to mean anything Donald Trump must now actually be convicted by the U.S Senate, otherwise, Donald Trump will retain things like access to info forever and Presidential benefits post-White House.

But Mitch McConnell, one a staunch ally of Trump, appears to be among those completely turning against him. According to the AP, McConnell has been quietly telling fellow Republican Senators that a vote is a vote of consciousness because without it again the Republican party would be in a death spiral.
