The mutated strain of COVID-19 or (COVID-20 if you must) currently gripping its way through England is believed to already be in the United States. That is a belief widely held due to the fact that there have been more than 3 dozen flights from England alone landing at airports like JFK. An airport that even we know isn’t doing the greatest of contact tracing efforts.
According to CNBC, health officials are now warning that the new strain has already arrived due to such and they’re expecting cases and deaths to sharply rise. Some experts are even going as far as to note that more than 3m people could be dead by the end of the month. It is unclear just how much more contagious the virus is but it is unknown whether or not this strain is any deadlier.
