A stunning story addding to many of the reasons why people don’t often trust the USPS anymore. According to an indictment seen by Daily News America, one Markeyta McAllister, 30 is facing some serious prison time after having spent several years stealing things from inside people’s mail. A feat she managed to do from 2014 through 2019.

“While most U.S. Postal Service employees serve Americans with integrity and honesty – McAllister did not,” said U.S. Attorney Byung J. ‘BJay’ Pak. “By opening peoples’ mail to steal money and gift cards, McAllister betrayed both the citizens she supposedly served and the reputation of her fellow employees.”

Prosecutors allege that she did such on her route in Dulutha GA and then would often go use the gift cards and such at store like Kroger and Wal-Mart.
