CT is now the first state to require schools to teach Black and Latino studies

Starting in the Fall of 2022 —- there’s some big changes coming to high schools in CT. According to the Governor, schools at that time will be required to diversify their course offerings to better incorporate Black; Latino, and other related studies. The move comes amid a nationwide outcry that schools just aren’t diversified enough.

And the fact that U.S education leaders often intentionally leave out things about African Americans to prevent people from learning the truth about what really happened throughout the course of history. The courses will be offered but not be required for students to take.
