A year or so ago, three La. based churches that stretch back in history clear to the reconstruction era —- were abruptly torched and burnt down. And now in what DOJ officials call justice for (“acts of hate”) — a 23-year-old white male has been sentenced for those fires. Officials say that Holden Matthews, 23, will spend the next 25 years of his life behind bars for the arson case(s).
The churches have been identified as: St. Mary Baptist Church in Port Barre, the Greater Union Baptist Churchin Opelousas, and the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Opelousas. Prosecutors oddly claim that his crimes were not committed by acts of racism but rather acts of self promotion to “fans of Black metal.”
