If you’ve been anywhere around downtown in the past 48 hours, you’ve probably heard about the now infamous party that took place at Washington Sq Park. According to reports, news of that party has now spread to the Governor who has now promised that because of such parties and more indoor dining just won’t happen. On Thursday, Gov Cuomo announced that until a strict task force is in place to ensure social distancing guidelines and more indoor dining won’t be able to happen because of examples like this one.
“If we have the enforcement mechanism in place, then we can talk about opening restaurants,” Cuomo said during a remote news conference from his Manhattan office.
“It would be negligent and reckless to open indoor dining, knowing that you have issues in upstate New York, knowing that compliance is going to be a problem.”
