AMC was hoping as lockdowns lifted and what not that people would by the droves return to their theatres. One would think that would’ve been an easy task, but instead the chain ‘s CEO spent the week denying reports that he’s sided with right-wing conspiracy theorists who believe masks are a larger part of a Democratic led government plot.

Earlier this week, AMC announced that people wouldn’t be required to wear a mask upon going to see a film whether alone or with their families. This almost immediately sparked backlash online as allot of people are actually vulnerable, but still want to be able to live their lives just like anybody else.

Now the chain has reversed course after claiming that they’ve spoken to their scientific advisors.

“It is clear from this response that we did not go far enough on the usage of masks,” Aron said, adding that “with the full support of our scientific advisors, we are reversing course and are changing our guest mask policy.” reads a statement in full.
